The benefits of practicing gratitude daily are endless. Those who regularly practice gratitude have been proven to feel more alive, energized, sleep better, express kindness more easily and even have stronger, healthier immune systems.

Gratitude does not have to be elaborate or saved for just special occasions. You can be thankful for something as simple as the sun shining or a delicious breakfast you put together! Research suggests that practicing gratitude in its simplest forms is enough to significantly improve your well – being and life satisfaction. So where do you start? Have a read of these tips below…

Wake up 10 Minutes Earlier.

How often do you wake up just in time to shower, get dressed, grab something to eat and go? Of course this normal, hectic morning routine might not allow for you to sit down for 5 minutes, reflect and be thankful. But rather than skip it out completely, why not try waking up just a fraction earlier? Take YOUR time for gratitude before life takes over!

Write down What You Care About the Most

Get your core values clear and written down. This way you can go through your list and easily see whether you are giving enough of your time and energy to these specific values. Could you be saving wasted energy elsewhere? You will find it far easier to be thankful when you are dedicating your time to the things most important to you.

Notice the Little Things

Your morning coffee, the sun seeping through your windows, your kids running into to wake you up… Be mindful of these little but oh so important things. The more you get comfortable practicing gratitude for the small things, the easier it will become.

Write it Down

Pick out three things each day that you are thankful for and put them down on paper. This can be anything from a person, a book you’ve read, a meal you’ve eaten, a family member, a workout, your health .. literally anything!

Share the Love

Feeling thankful for someone today? Tell them! You can brighten not only your own day but someone else’s in the process!

Count Your Blessings, Not Sheep!

Gratitude is one of the most effective ways to fall asleep at night. Feeling content and grateful automatically relieves tension, relaxes the body and allows you to get that extra zzzz.

Surround Yourself with Positivity

Aspire to be around those wonderful people who LIFT you hire. Eliminate toxic people and relationships where possible and focus on moving forward. Reading positive quotes or listening to positive, motivating podcasts are also a brilliant way to start your day knowing you are ready to take on whatever life throws at you!
